Callan Bowes
My journey into fitness began during my final year of high school, when I weighed around 20 stone.
Having struggled with my weight for most of my life, I reached a point where I knew I needed to make a change. I initially started my fitness journey at home, following workout videos on YouTube. Over time, I built up the confidence to take the next step and join a gym. I chose PureGym, and it has been a significant part of my fitness journey ever since.
When deciding what I wanted to pursue as a career, I reflected on what I genuinely enjoyed and what I was passionate about. My dad always told me, “If you do something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.” This inspired me to pursue a career in fitness, combining something I enjoy with my desire to help others.
My own experience has given me an understanding of how intimidating and overwhelming the gym can feel when you are just starting out. I had to learn everything from scratch, and I understand the uncertainty that can come with not knowing where to begin or whether you are doing things correctly.
As a Personal Trainer, my goal is to use my own experience and knowledge to help clients feel more confident, comfortable and capable in the gym. I want to provide the guidance and support that I wish I had when I first started my fitness journey.
I believe the gym should be a welcoming and supportive environment for everyone, regardless of their starting point or experience level. My aim is to help clients become the best version of themselves, develop confidence and create healthy habits that they can maintain for life.
